Congratulations to Kevin Curtis from the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron whose participation in the 2009/10 Club Marine Series won him a trip for two to the 2010 Croatia Yacht Rally to be sailed between Sibenik and Dubrovnik this coming September. The Croatia Yacht Rally is sailed using a one-design fleet of Dufour 44.5 Performance yachts, which have proven that a fast cruising yacht is an achievable goal for a production yacht builder. The 44.5 sports a three spreader rig, tri-radial cut spectra sails, 2.3 meter lead keel, S drive with folding propeller and balsa core construction. The cruising fit out, however, is not in any way compromised and the three double cabins, two heads, extensive galley and huge cockpit offer real comfort and luxury.
Croatia is now the number one international destination for Australian yachtsman and the combination of short passages on flat water between islands that offer in tact medieval cities, an exciting cuisine and excellent wines make it easy to understand why.
There are still yachts and individual places available for this year’s rally. Contact Mariner Boating Holidays on 03 9670 40 30 or visit www.marinerboating.com.au
